Thread Scheme – SCT029 Artichokes in Bloom

SCT029 Artichokes in Bloom

Artichokes are one of those plants that I am pleased to see bloom every year. Their blooms remind me of Scottish thistles, but what a surprise it was to me when it was pointed out they were actually artichokes. The plants are stately, with the fruit / blooms held high on their strong stalks, so they definitely stand out in a garden. And, the blooms are just beautiful to see! This photograph takes the purple flowers and fruit, but I also picked up on the surrounding deep red and yellow from neighboring flowers. It makes for a neat looking color scheme!

For each of these thread schemes, or palettes, , I’ll include both an image showing how it was built (to the left), and a thread color schemes, with actual thread numbers, that you can print out. Feel free to save these cards, because you never know when you’ll need them.

Keep your eye out for more color schemes coming in the Simply Color series!

Have you learned more about color harmonies that I cover? Take a look into them, and let me know what you think!!! You’ll never run out of thread palettes again!!!

What part of color inspires you?

Happy stitchin’!
