Thread Scheme – SCT023 DMC Variagated Threads

Sometimes, you just want to play with threads for “threads sake”. What I mean, is that you just want to choose some threads, and see where it take you? This week, I played with an older DMC product – the variegated threads. These threads are simply light and dark threads of the same color, all pulled together is one skein. We’ve since gotten the beautiful multi-colored Color Variations and Coloris lines, but that’s for another day. Today, I just wanted to build the color wheel using these threads. What do you think?

For each of these thread scheme, or palettes, , I’ll include both an image showing how it was built (to the left), and a thread color schemes, with actual thread numbers, that you can print out. Feel free to save these cards, because you never know when you’ll need them.

Keep your eye out for more color schemes coming in the Simply Color series!

Have you learned more about color harmonies that I cover? Take a look into them, and let me know what you think!!! You’ll never run out of thread palettes again!!!

What part of color inspires you?

Happy stitchin’!
Sally
