Color Harmonies - Split Analagous

The SPLIT ANALAGOUS color harmony takes two colors, that are only separated by one color on the color wheel.  So, they’re closely related, but a little more different than the ANALAGOUS color harmony.  The close relation of the two colors makes this a very calming colorway, and a pretty one at that!

Click and save below the web card for this color harmony.  Print it out on cardstock, and use it to look at any of our thread wheels.  Make up your own even, and see how many schemes you come up with!

Now, let’s take a look at our 4 scenarios and see what we come up with:

Fill (shown above):  SCT003 used.  This fill basically uses a two-color breakdown, and simply makes the repeat over and over.  You can play which color you want for which repeat, and that changes the look a little bit.

Fill (shown below):   SCT003 used.   This fill again just breaks down into two stitches, and again, you can play which color is where, and even which color is stitched on the top and on the back.  It overlaps some, so whichever you stitch on the top, it changes the look of the fill a bit.  As you can see, the combination is intriguing, so would be interesting to play with.

NBB-2315:  SCT004 used.  For this design, I just kept the simply repeat of the blocks, and repeated them.  It will come up with a 3D kind of look, if you use the darker of the two colors for the two sections wrapping around, and the lighter of the two colors for the block.  But, it looks beautiful either way!

NBB-6001:  SCT005-3a used.  This design was pretty just using one color for the 5 squares, and the other color for the rectangular blocks.  The outer border utilizes both colors, to pull it all together.

Click on any of the images, and find a PDF document that has each of these charts documented with what threads I used.    Do this on each of the color harmonies I document, and you’ll have 12 different ways to stitch them!  The possibilities are endless!!!
