12 Jul Color Harmonies – Half Color Wheel
Sometimes, when working with a color scheme, it is best to have fewer colors to play with. My HALF COLOR WHEEL color harmony is just that. It is a wheel where we take every other color on the 12-color wheel. So instead of having 12 colors to work with, you are getting the benefit of the wheel, but only having 6 colors to deal with.
As you can see in the designs, it pulls together the colors into a smooth combination, and the colors work well together.
Click and save below the web card for this color harmony. Print it out on cardstock, and use it to look at any of our thread wheels. Make up your own even, and see how many schemes you come up with!
Now, let’s take a look at our 4 scenarios and see what we come up with:
Fill (shown above): SCT003 used. These fills are similar to the WHOLE color wheel fills, and again are what makes use of the color wheel make sense!  Then, all you have to do is stitch! Bookmarks are beautiful, and easy to do. Large-scale areas are beautiful as well!
NBB-2315:Â SCT004 used.
Well, with 3 pieces per blocks, and 4 blocks, looks like we can use the half color wheel twice? This is a nice way of repeating the colors, so that the blocks are together.
NBB-6001:Â SCT005-3a used. For this design, I moved the colors throughout the pattern, so you’ll see the transition from color to color clearly. It really turned out beautiful though, don’t you think?
